Project Engineer - Deer Park, Washington
M.C. Lundgren, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our team full-time in the construction industry.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Engineer is responsible for assisting in reviewing plans, estimating labor and materials (including material suppliers and sub-contractors), securing the lowest competitive bids for all aspects of construction on the assigned project, and maintaining documentation and accurate records.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 2 years as a Project Engineer in the construction industry.
Experience preferably in multi-family and/or commercial construction.
Demonstrate strong work ethic, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office and project scheduling software (Bluebeam knowledge is a plus).
Proficient in material take-off and estimating.
Thorough working knowledge of all disciplines and phases of construction.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Assist in procuring the lowest competitive bids for all aspects of construction on the assigned projects. Maintain all bid documents, including but not limited to: bid forms, bid letter, bid qualification, bid log, bid comparison, and subcontractor lists.
2. Review and interpret project plans and specifications. Assist with material quantity takeoffs and comparisons.
3. Assist in preparation of the project budget.
4. Assist in writing and updating Contract Scopes, Payment Applications, and Purchase Orders. Complete and maintain the Exhibit D and writing and review of all project Submittals.
5. Assist in writing RFIs, ARFs, Purchase Orders, Back-Charges, and Change Orders. Monitor sub-contract agreements noting problems and providing explanations.
6. Assist in identifying problems or potential problems as they relate to the organization of the job. Prioritize tasks to provide a smooth flow of progress throughout the project and oversee tasks and responsibilities assigned to employees and subcontractors.
7. Make periodic visits to the project site to verify site’s organization and cleanliness as well as construction progress according to established completion schedules.
8. Assist office staff in preparing and distributing project Operations and Maintenance Manuals.
9. Assist in assuring all procedures and workmanship meet company standards.
10. Assist billing department in verifying invoices and purchase orders according to project contracts and subcontracts.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Competitive Salary: $68,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The Project Engineer will work directly under the counsel of the assigned Senior Project Manager/Project Manager, accountable to them for performing the duties outlined in this job description. The Project Engineer will be responsible for project-related document control within the office and will need to utilize discretion and strong organizational skills when dealing with company documents.
